SACRAMENTO, CA – The Sacramento Regional Transit District (SacRT) is pleased to announce that construction at the Swanston Station to modify the platform height to accommodate the new S700 low-floor light rail vehicles will be completed ahead of schedule on Friday, October 18, 2024. SacRT will then begin platform construction at the Roseville Road Station on Monday, October 21, 2024, as part of its ongoing efforts to improve accessibility and rider experience on the Blue Line.
Starting Friday, October 21st, Roseville Road Station will be temporarily closed for light rail service through Friday, November 8, 2024, as crews work to adjust the platform height. During this time, trains will continue to pass through the station; however, customers will not be able to board or deboard at Roseville Road. Light rail riders are encouraged to use nearby stations, such as Marconi/Arcade or Watt/I-80, during the closure.
These platform upgrades are an essential part of SacRT’s commitment to providing a modern, accessible, and efficient transit system for the Sacramento region.
Please note that there will be no bus bridge in place during the Roseville Road Station closure. SacRT encourages riders to plan accordingly by visiting sacrt.com/stationclosures or calling the SacRT Customer Service team at 916-321-BUSS (2877) for assistance.
